We watch a lot of British tv in our household, so when this pumpkin-spiced family movie came across my desk, I knew we'd all enjoy using it to get us in the fall mood!

Synopsis:

In the Pumpkin Capital of the World, stoic farmer Dinah Little begrudgingly takes in her spirited niece, Charlie. But Charlie isn’t an ordinary child—she has a special knack for connecting with plants that quietly reflects her own longing to feel just as seen and loved.

As the town prepares for the annual pumpkin-growing contest, Charlie sets her sights on
winning. With the help of quirky Arlo, plot and pumpkins thicken as rival growers pull every trick in the book. Will Charlie and Dinah’s unlikely entry stand tall against the fiercest competition the town has ever seen?

As her pumpkin grows, so does her bond with Dinah, and together they learn the real prize is joy, laughter, and family!

We loved this movie! It was full of colorful, quirky characters, from the snooty old couple in the mansion next door ("send in the hounds!") to silly Sarah the Shopkeeper, they all kept us laughing and cheering (& tearing up at the end) through every frame.

Although many "decent" movies like this one can be boring and predictable, Grow is anything but.

This movie was totally refreshing--full of moments of pure entertainment that remind us that simple, family-focused themes like this one can greatly boost our mood as well as fill us with plenty of chuckles to make our watching time well-spent.

Gv and I agreed that we could easily add this film to our seasonal watch list and we were especially tickled when one of our favorite songs, (Track #2 on this album) popped up at the end.

This is a story of love that grows. At its heart is the touching bond between a prickly aunt and her spirited niece. Their journey shows that sometimes the family we need grows where we least expect it.

Buy tickets today to see Grow in theaters, starting October 17--perfectly timed to provide a cozy, funny, safe & whimsical alternative to scary movies this season!
