It's time for another round of 5 After 5!  In case you missed it, last week's list was 5 desserts you love to eat and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here.

Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.

And this series is now a link party, so be sure to scroll down and join in all the fun with us this week!

List 5 of your favorite comedies

With the taxes being due this past week, we all deserve a dose of silliness, right?

Yesterday's Friday Frivolity revolved around comedy movies, but I decided to take advantage of that opportunity to be a bit of a tease, since I didn't divulge my top five.

Confession time:  in typical fashion, I struggled with narrowing down my list of favorites to merely five.  Saving those titles until today allowed me to disclose those that almost made this list in yesterday's post.  I know, I'm just a big cheat!

I've shared a few of my top comedies in previous 5 After 5 posts, like this one for my favorite actor and this one for my favorite Christmas movies. (See, more cheating!)

Without further ado, here are my absolute favorite belly-busting flicks:

1.  Clue

Easily up at the top of my movie list, in general.  My best friend and I watched this movie so many times growing up, we could go through the entire thing (not just quoting lines, but musical notes, too) from start to finish (usually while sitting through an especially long church service).

I haven't watched it in a while, but I'm pretty sure I can still quote the majority of it by heart.  Especially this scene:

A former skating student guaranteed I would love this movie, and he was completely right.  I treat my Bic pens like Milton treats his Swingline and I will sit and laugh the entire time this movie is on.

Anyone who has ever held an office position will find this movie hilarious (actually, anyone who's ever held a job will find it funny), so you definitely have to check it out, if you aren't already familiar with it.

A word of caution, though.  This movie is definitely filled with bad language, so if you don't want to block that out, it might be better to skip this one.

3.  Mr. Mom

I'm not sure if my mom and I have watched this or The Sound of Music more, but I would guess this wins the top spot, because it just always gave us such a laugh.

It's really been too long since I've last viewed it, but it hasn't been very long since I've quoted the lines from this classic scene:

4.  My Cousin Vinny

This is one of those movies that I can't help but stop and watch, whenever it happens to be on (or I did, before we got rid of tv).

It just makes me laugh so, so hard and there are so many scenes that I just adore.  One of my favorites involves Marisa Tomei discussing a deer, but another, more appropriate scene to share is this gem:

5.  Best in Show

I came up with the idea for today's comedic topic back when I was struggling with narrowing down my all-time favorite movie list to just five.

This movie definitely makes that list, but by shifting it here with the comedies, I was finally able to come up with only five for that past week.

Even though I like other movies that this silly group of actors has created, I enjoy this one so much that I watch it several times a year.

Here's my favorite part - and I even managed to hunt down a bee dog toy for my former dog, Bishnu!

For next week:

List 5 books you've read so far this year

It's no secret that we like books around here, so even though it's only April, I've already read quite the stack of tomes.  Which five do I feel are great enough to share?  Check back next week to see, as well as to share your list of five!

And now, here's this week's link party!  Two other fabulous bloggers have teamed up with me to create lists of five each week and we hope that you'll join us, too!

That's right, every post will be read, pinned and tweeted!

Every Saturday, just stop by one of our three blogs to add your own list of five, then pop over and read as many other posts as you're able to each week - treat it like a true party and really mix it up and mingle with our fun little community!

The rules are simple:  just write your own list following the prompt each week (feel free to interpret it loosely - or in a unique way!), follow each of the three hosts on the social media channel of your choice, and then get into the spirit of the party by grabbing your favorite beverage or snack and reading the lists of the other party-goers.

Well, my little cheater, I'm crazy about you! And I'm so glad "Vinny" made your list, because it's one of my top faves, too, but didn't quite make my cut. In addition to "what is a yute?" (or "yoot"), I love "there goes the quintessential Norton" and "oh, yeah, you blend." Also, "the whole store has the flu." And yes to Mr. Mom! Have loved that forever but forgot about it! So glad you remembered! :) Am adding my link in a minute. For next week, can I use books I've "read" on CD book? 'Cause that's the only way I get them "read" anymore with this blogging thing eating up my life. ;)

Oh, yes, the "you blend" and "the whole store has the flu" are some of my favorite lines, as well! How fun (but not surprising) that you love both it and Mr. Mom! And OhMyGoodness YES! You can absolutely use books you "read" on CD! That totally counts! I just squealed again! Can't wait to read your next list!
I can still quote so much of Clue. Dann and I have to watch it every once in a while. New people hate watching it with because I can't resist quoting. I haven't watch Mr. Mom in so long. That was one of the movies Dad and I watched often.

I was hoping you'd see this post, Dana! How fun that you and Danny still watch it together. I haven't watched it with G yet, so he has yet to have that "experience." Miss you!
Miss you too
Hi Lisa!

Elizabeth's (the Guilty mama's) post got me over here. I really enjoyed reading both of your lists. I'm so sorry I missed last weeks link up because desert is something near and dear to my heart. :o) Coming up with my fav five would have been easy...but this book thing? Oy! I'd be hard-pressed to name five for this year. Still, I'll be stopping by to see what others have read.

Blessings,
Tiffiney

I thought I'd be struggling to find 5 books that I've enjoyed so far this year, too, but then I realized I'd read more than I'd thought. I hope you join us again for a future 5 After 5 post, Tiffiney, and I'd still love to hear what your favorite desserts are!
I love comedies! We all could use some laughter in our life! I have only seen one of these so I will have to check out the rest! Thanks for sharing! Linking up with you at #socialbutterflysunday :)

Okay, so now you've peaked my curiousity. Which one is the one you've seen?
I love your list! Office space is a favorite in our house. CLUE! I haven't seen or thought about that in years. Thanks so much for Linking Up at Family Joy Blog Link UP!

I seriously think I find something new to laugh at every time I watch Office Space! I'm glad I reminded you about Clue, too, because it reminded me that I wanted to watch it again, after writing this post. So glad you stopped by to say hello, Laura!
Hi Lisa - found you through Works for Me Wednesday link up and so glad I came by. I've linked up with you once before but haven't checked in for a while. Five favourite comedies - too easy 1. Funny Farm 2. Tootsie 3. Blind Date (Bruce Willis) 4. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation 5. Unfaithfully Yours (with Dudley Moore, Nastassja Kinski.) Thanks for the fun!!

I'm so glad you came by, too, Tracey! I'd never heard of Funny Farm until recently, but have it checked out from the library to watch soon and I'm pretty sure I'll find it hilarious. And I remember when Tootsie came out, but I never saw it, so I think I'll have to check that one out, too. Of course, Christmas Vacation is one of my absolute favorites (it's on my Christmas movie list), but I haven't heard of the other two, so I'll have to investigate those, as well. I hope to see you around here again soon, and thanks for stopping by to say hey today!
This sounds like fun. I may have to get in on all the fun. I like that is falls over the weekend where social media tends to be slow and we don't have to fight for link parties and getting noticed.

Oh, I hope you do join us, Michelle! I've really enjoyed writing these posts the past year, but it's been even more fun to read what other bloggers have shared ever since it's been a link party!
I don't know how I've never heard of Mr Mom, it sounds exactly like my kind of thing! I love anything involving role swaps :D #FridayFrivolity

I'm surprised you haven't seen it, either. I'm pretty sure that even though it's over 30 years old, you'll really enjoy it. If you remember, let me know what you think, after you watch it!
Great movie choices! My family and I enjoy comedy movies with Adam Sandler or Robin Williams. Thanks for sharing with #SocialButterflySunday! Hope to see you link up again this week :)

Those are two other hilarious actors, that's for sure. I like 50 First Dates and The Wedding Singer - I think the Adam/Drew match-up is especially fun. Thanks for taking the time to say hello today, Kelly!
My Cousin Vinny has to be one of my favorite movies. Thanks for sharing this on the #HomeMattersParty

Yay for another Vinny fan! I've pulled it out to watch again soon, because it's been too long since I've last seen it. Thanks for stopping by today, Jeanne!
