It's time for another round of 5 After 5! In case you missed it, last week's list was 5 of your favorite Christmas songs and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here.
Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.
And if you've posted your own 5 After 5 list on your blog, I've turned this series into a link party - so be sure to get your own 5 things added below (or leave your answers in today's comments). I loved reading everyone's comments from last week and I really can't wait to see what you share today!
List your top 5 favorite Christmas movies
As you'll see next week, watching Christmas movies is one of my favorite Christmas traditions. I notoriously post quotes throughout the month on my Facebook page and my friends try and figure out which movie I'm watching that night.
Of course, I've been doing this so long, a few friends pretty much know my list - in order - by heart, so they can usually guess the answer pretty quickly.
How many of these do you know? I'd love to hear, and I can't wait to find out what your favorites are!

How many of these do you know? I'd love to hear, and I can't wait to find out what your favorites are!
1. The Muppet Christmas Carol
Would you believe this has been on my favorites list since it debuted back in 1992? So you can imagine how much fun I'm having introducing my little Muppet-crazed Gv to it this year!
My favorite line? "Light the lamp, not the rat! Light the lamp, not the rat!"
What else do we do on the day we watch this one? See this post to find out!
And practically all of the lines are not in any way fit to print here, but I don't care.
My absolute favorite? Let's just say it involves Cousin Eddie emptying the black water tank on his RV ("That there is an RV") into the Griswold's storm drain...
Check out what else we do the day we watch this movie.
3. Love Actually
I am NOT a sappy-movie-lover. In fact, when this movie came out and the trailer was playing incessantly, I couldn't get to the remote to change the channel fast enough and I would go on and on about how this was the last movie I'd ever want to see, even if no other movie existed on earth.
But then, somehow, I saw it.
And I realized that I could like a sappy movie, but only if it was full of ridiculousness in-between all that gooey lovey-dovey stuff.
I would even say that G would agree that it's our movie. He even recreated this scene for me the first Christmas we were together, and watching it is part of our Christmas Eve tradition.
My favorite line? "The traffic today was just..." But since that scene is totally inappropriate, I'll share this one: "Look, can you be quite quick?"
Because, Alan Rickman.
Yes, I have a thing for Alan Rickman. And this isn't some new Severus Snape thing, either. Oh, no. This goes all the way back to his Hans Gruber days (which could totally show up on this list!)
Anyway, back to the movie. Since we watch this on Christmas Eve, here's what else we're up to when we watch it.
4. Holiday Inn
This one kicks off my holiday movie-a-thon each year and I usually end up watching it several times.
And by several, I mean about 28.
It's one of my favorite movies ever and although I technically could get away with watching it all throughout the year, there's just something fun about depriving myself of its wonderfulness and then binging on it all throughout the month of December.
Gv has fallen in love with it also - I think she really gets into all the singing and dancing.
My favorite line? "Shortcut to the shortcut!" (I couldn't find a link to that one, so you'll just have to watch the movie to get it!)
What else are we up to on the day we watch this? Take a look!
5. Miracle on 34th Street
Another one I usually end up watching several times each December. I have both this and #4 in a deluxe, multi-disc edition and so that means I have to at least watch both the original B&W and colorized versions each year.
I mean, otherwise the colorized disc would get its feelings all hurt (because I have to be all movie-purist and watch the original first, you know) and we can't have that, can we?
My favorite line? "Hello? Hello? Hellooooo..."
And here's what else we get ourselves into on that day (I promise, no triple-strength martinis are included!)
List 5 of your favorite Christmas traditions
Take time in the middle of the wrapping paper fallout next week to reflect on what traditions you love most about the season. Did you get around to doing them this year, or will a few be added to next week's resolutions list so you don't miss out again?
What's your list? I'd love to hear! Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
