Songs to Get You into the Spirit of the Season

I remember when this CD came out and it seemed so avant-garde for a Christmas album (at least in our family).  It's funny to realize that Mannheim Steamroller has become the "#1 Christmas music artist in history" (according to its listing on Amazon), although I certainly feel that several of these carol versions have become classics.  Give Christmas a listen and I bet you'll agree, particularly with the songs Deck the Halls and God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.

Some Reading Sure to Garner a Great Response

I think the illustrations of this picture book are superb and I just love the rhyming lines of this Christmas story, especially the way the author weaves familiar carol refrains into the narrative.  Christmas in the Barn was a new holiday book selection for us, but one we are excited to look forward to reading year after year.

Day 29 - Innocents

Read Jeremiah 31:15, then Matthew 2:16-18 to see how Jesus lives out Matthew 5:17 (see verse in graphic below) and fulfills the prophecy that the Messiah would trigger a slaughter of children.

What will you be doing to observe this fourth day of Christmas?  Are you still recovering from all the holiday busyness, or is Christmas still in full swing at your house?  I'd love to hear!  Leave a comment or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
