The goal of this post is to capture a memory from the past week, either with a camera, words, or both. Time passes in the blink of an eye and this will create a collection of treasured memories from throughout the year.
My Snapshot(s)
Today I'm playing catch‐up after all the Celebrating the Season posts that have filled this blog since the weekend after Thanksgiving. Take a gander at what we've been up to over the holidays and grab your dose of Gv cuteness in the process.Week 48
A Thanksgiving camping trip to our favorite nearby spot. Gv had the most fun ever on this sixth camping excursion of her young life and not just because we brought along her play tunnel for her to crawl through.
The last camping trip had really cool rocks, but this one had an entry road covered in tiny shells, which provided hours of entertainment. Also, this site was much safer (no river rushing by), so she could pretty much wander around and explore whatever caught her fancy. Plus, she could moo back to the cow we could hear in the distance, as well as bray back to its neighbor the donkey.
Week 49
We got the tree up shortly after Thanksgiving and it was so interesting to see how differently Gv reacted to it compared to a year ago.
Last year, she was still pretty easy to contain, but as soon as I began unpacking everything this year, she wanted to "help."
We had a little chat about how to approach the tree and how to use only a "finger touch" to explore the ornaments, once they were added.
I just love how this photo shows her following these directions ‐ the position of her little hands and the expression on her face are just priceless to me.
Week 50
I finally feel like I'm getting the hang of putting her hair into pigtails, but you can see in this photo what happens the minute I'm finished.
She yanks them right out ‐ no matter how tight I make them or how much hair she loses in the process.
Any tips on how to keep these in? Besides looking cute, I like being able to keep her hair out of her face...
Week 51
All dressed up to attend her cousin's preschool Christmas pageant, but that didn't stop her from having fun!
Gv had only been on a swing like this in my lap or G's, so I wasn't thinking she would be able to do it by herself...
She sure proved me wrong.
She climbed right on and immediately grabbed the ropes and held on tightly ‐ no matter how high her cousin pushed her.
My heart was racing a bit out of nervousness for her safety, but I couldn't help smiling at Gv's glee and giggles from this experience
Week 52
Modeling her new hat on Christmas Day. I crocheted her outfit, which she wore with such style (note the single shoe).
She cracks me up ‐ such personality!
Week 53
A free trip to Sea World for the three of us (hooray teacher passes!) was a fun first amusement park experience with Gv:
I almost didn't bother taking Gv into this tank‐viewing spot because it involved quite a bit of crawling and squirming (on my part) to get both of us in there. It was well worth it, though! I just wish there hadn't been a line of other people waiting to get in so we could have stayed to watch the fish longer.
Shamu had some great flips and jumps, I'm sure, but I was too busy enjoying Gv's reaction to it all!
Week 54
This is what we do in the dead of winter...spend the day at the beach, playing in the sand.
