At last week's party, we focused on everything Dad.

By this point in the year, summer is in full-swing pretty much everywhere, so today we're taking time to embrace those lazy-hazy-crazy-days:

What pops to the forefront of your mind when you think of summer?

For me (besides the above song, which of course is really a round-about reference to the first episode of season 3 of this show), I can't say "summer" without hearing this:

Oh, yeah, I saw you standing up there, getting your groove on while you watched that little clip.

Don't even try to deny it.

But seriously, I bet most of you pictured something like this:

when I mentioned the word summer, right?

Well, I live with that in my backyard, so summer for us means getting as far away from the heat and the sand (and the crowds of people) as is humanly possible, so summer for us usually means this:

And, just so you know, if your vacation plans happen to bring you down to The Sunshine State, you should expect this:

Every. Single. Day.

Seriously, you can set your watch to our afternoon thunderstorms - my summer camp as a kid actually had "rain time" on the daily schedule, because it was way smarter to just go ahead and plan to pack all 348 soaked-to-the-bone campers into the one rec room for an afternoon movie that no one wanted to watch than even attempt any typical camp activities...

But, outside of the 35-minute downpour you'll experience each day (which, by the way, will NOT cool things off, but merely produce more steam, making the humidity register approximately 5,479 out of 100), you can certainly expect plenty of sun.

Just keep in mind what that means:

And also keep in mind that hurricane season started this month.  It's usually pretty quiet until school starts to ramp up in the fall (and a big one will absolutely threaten to hit on day one or two of the new school year, which - let me tell you, as a teacher, is such a pain in the neck), but if you happen to be caught down here as one is heading this way, there are a few things you should know:

Don't expect to find any bread, that's for sure!

Yup.  And it's mainly to flush toilets with, because pretty much everyone's using the storm as an excuse to get soused!

And I really hope you hadn't planned a trip to the Keys if a storm starts a'brewin'...because if you did, this will be your view for about 600 miles!

So, what does summer mean to you?
