The goal of this post is to capture a memory from the past week, either with a camera, words, or both.  Time passes in the blink of an eye and this will create a collection of treasured memories from throughout the year.

My Snapshot(s)

Whew.

Did you notice the absence of Project Snapshot posts over the past month or so?

I'd planned to add photos from the road (we took another epic FREE summer vacation), but ran into major technical difficulties the first day we headed into town to jump online at the local library and I realized I'd just need to do a catch-up post of all the missing weeks when we returned.

Week 130

I just love this photo of G & Gv heading off down the road to hunt for sticks. G put on work gloves, so naturally Gv had to stick some socks on her hands so she could be like Daddy!

Week 131

At one of the many summer concerts we attended at the Brevard Music Center's Summer Music Festival. This one, on the 4th of July, featured plenty of cannons during the 1812 Overture finale!

Week 132

A big climb to the top of John Rock (with Looking Glass Rock in the background). We did several hikes to these types of exposed-rock-summits during the summer and each one brought the same "Ooooohhh, wow!" response to Gv's lips.

Week 133

Last year, G mostly wore Gv on hikes and then she'd do a little of the trail back down the mountain on her own. Not this summer. This time, she did them all by herself - only riding in the hiking backpack for the tail-end of a few treks that lasted past her nap time.  Even big boulders like these didn't daunt our little outdoorsy girl!

Week 134

By the end of the trip, she didn't even need a hand to help her scramble up rocky mountaintops!

Week 135

All our fun came quickly crashing to an end when we pulled into the garage close to midnight and discovered that our spare refrigerator (the one we keep all our long-term food in) had died. I won't even begin to describe how disgusting the garage still smells and how many bugs are still flying around (even in the house!) from this mess - or how heartbreaking it was to have to toss out so much food that completely filled our entire county-issued rolling garbage bin!

What was your favorite memory from this past week (or summer)?  I'd love to hear!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
