It's always exciting each year when the time comes to haul out our collection of Christmas books!

Keeping them tucked away until the holidays are upon us makes it feel like a mix between winning the book lottery and revisiting old friends.

There are just so many adorable Christmas-themed books out there - and even though we own quite a few already, I can't help but pick up a couple more each year!

This season, we have a new favorite to add to our holiday book basket:

Even though this book arrived before Halloween, Gv and I had to sit right down and read it the minute we opened it!

Each page tells a bit of the Christmas story - citing an appropriate Bible verse for each blurb of text.

This aspect of the book, coupled with the way-cute illustrations, would make it a wonderful addition to your holiday library, but there's more:

Each open spread also includes eight different items to search for - turning this into an activity book, as well!

I loved how some of the items we easy to find and some were quite tricky!

Because of its dual nature, I feel this book is a great investment.  The sturdy board book pages (with fun turning tabs) and bright, colorful pictures make it the perfect book to grab in time for baby's first Christmas.

You'll enjoy reading this story each year with your little one, but when (s)he reaches the preschool stage, you'll want to tuck this tome into your tote each time you leave the house.

I've got a dentist appointment coming up in a few weeks, and I know this will be one I add to the bag to keep Gv occupied during all that whirring and swishing.

It's entirely appropriate for church, too - it's quiet, engaging, and doesn't require extra pens or paper!

There are 6 pages like this one inside this book.

I definitely recommend this book for anyone with kids aged birth to probably around school age (5-6).  It's a great one to grow up with and Gv has already learned several new vocabulary words (like "vessel" and "plank") from it.

You can grab your own copy of this book here to help build anticipation for the big day - or check one thing off your gift list and wrap it up to stick under the tree!

You bet, Barbara, and I hope you and your family enjoy it as much as we have already! Thanks for stopping by to say hey!
It's a good one, Barbara, so I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do! Thanks for stopping by to say hey!
This looks like a really fun book. And it's a great idea to put them away after the Holidays, you can have so much fun bringing them out again the next year. The fact that this is not only a story, but an activity book is really cool!

I love the book's dual nature, too, Nikki! And I started putting books away like that in my classroom years ago. Then, it was mainly to keep them nice year after year, but I've kept it up just to keep our collection fresh here at home!
