Welcome back to Latticed Learning!  This year, we're continuing to learn while we play - repeating many of our favorites from last year while adding in all sorts of new activities as well.

This day's post is devoted to our weekly Bible stories - some weeks have more activities than others, but each lesson will help your little one grow closer to God!

Read the Bible

Pages 120-123 in this Bible and 89-95 in this one

Read a Little More

We think books are the best around here, so it's always fun to discover great new titles.  I wasn't familiar with any specific books for this week's lesson, but I did find several that look really great:

The Ten Commandments for Children

Who Knows Ten?

The Ten Commandments for Little Ones

The Story of the Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments

Sing Some Songs

I found several songs that help you learn and remember the commandments:

This song is presented from the Hebrew perspective.

This one is short, easy, and gets to the meat of the commands.

And this song and this one are just plain fun.

Watch Some Videos

This video continued to match up with our Bible lesson.

This video was really neat for the 10 commandments.

This one and this one were great, as well!

Play and Create

We repeated lots of things we did last year to learn about The 10 Commandments, then added in something new.

First, we learned specific hand motions to help us remember the 10 Commandments.  You can read all about it here, but here's a little preview:

Nose-picking is optional, of course.

Then, to help jog our memory while learning these ten rules, I created this little mini poster with simplified commandments.  I printed it out and hung it up on the refrigerator, then we added it to our dollar-store photo album after we took it down:

You can download your own copy for free here!

I also printed out these cute cards, which Gv used to match up to the numbers while we were doing the hand motions each day.

And I downloaded these nifty 10 Commandments Number Pictures.  I adjusted the printing size and stuck it in a cheap dollar-store frame to hang on the wall, because you can never have too many visuals!
