The illustrations may have been updated, but it still includes the same timeless words!

I received a free copy of this product in exchange for writing a review. All opinions are my own.
It's no secret that this is our family's favorite children's Bible - we use it every week and base our Latticed Learning lessons on it, so I was pretty excited to be chosen for this review opportunity!
I was anxious to get my hands on this new edition so I could see for myself what changes had been made.
I knew from the product description that the illustrations had been updated, but I was really curious to find out if the text had changed at all.
It hasn't.
Nope, my new copy includes the same timeless text as the one we've loved for years.
But this new version has changed more than just the illustrations - it's also changed the paper used for the pages.
In what was a genius move, these guys took the previous plain-paper book pages and made them sturdier. Now the pages feel a bit thicker and are kind of glossy...whatever it was they did to the pages, they're obviously meant to hold up to even the wildest readers!
Our "old" copy of this Bible has many torn or repaired pages. Not from any kind of crazy use, but just from use, you know? I mean, when you've got a book that has been read literally every single day for the past 3+ years, its pages are bound to be a little worn.
I bet these new-fangled pages will hold up way better, though!
But the main difference with this book is in the illustrations. The new, vibrant, three-dimensional artwork is meant to be a fresh take on the classic graphics that attracted us to this Bible in the first place.
In the previous version, everything was outlined in black:
In this one, the black lines are replace with a white glow that makes the pictures pop on the page.
I do have to say that I think we prefer the black outlines, so I'm glad we still have our former copy. There's nothing wrong with the new version and I'm sure it will appeal to everyone just fine, but the old pictures are just more our style.
With that being said, though, I can find nothing wrong with this book. In fact, I'm a little glad that we like our original version better, because now it makes my decision on whether to keep this one or share it with our young niece much easier.
She has expressed an interest in having a Bible of her own and I knew the minute I heard her say that, this Bible would be the one I'd get for her.
So that's just what I'll do.
If you're looking for a great Bible for your little ones (probably up to about age 8), then I highly recommend this book!
And if you own the old version, but want a new one that seems nearly indestructible, then go get yourself this upgrade with its fancy new pages.
You can order your own copy here!

My 7 and 4 year old positively Love this book! The pages are falling out! Used it as part of our Kindergarten when our 7 yo was 5, and recently our 4 yo cant get enough of it! We have it downloaded from Audible as well, its super nice!! Sometimes we read the book before bed and then they want to listen to the Audible as they fall asleep. Glad to hear someone else loves it as much as we do!
