Friday Frivolity - Top Romantic Songs Edition

It's time for this week's edition of Friday Frivolity - the blog party for all things fun, funny, hopeful & happy!

Just wait until you see what we dug up for this week's theme...

At last week's party, we shared all sorts of Groundhog Day silliness.

This week, we're focusing on Valentine's Day and I've decided to list my favorite romantic songs.

Of course, I thought that would be a quick task, but when I actually started listing my favorites, I couldn't stop...

1.  At Last

This is such a common choice for a list like this, but it's really my absolute favorite, so I don't care!

2.  Faithfully

I went to three proms, and each one's theme song makes me smile. This is one of them.

3.  Don't Ask the Reasons Why

Probably my favorite of the prom songs and since it's a little more obscure, I only associate it with that memory when I hear it.

4.  Young and Innocent

This entire soundtrack makes me smile, but especially this song from one of my proms.

5.  Right Here Waiting

Hmmm, 3 proms, 4 songs. Maybe one of the others was our senior theme song or something, because I think this was a prom theme, too.

6.  In Your Eyes

Who can hear this song without thinking of that famous movie scene?

It's perfection.

7.  Wicked Game

Even before Ross and Rachel made this song extra-hot, I loved this tune, but that planetarium scene sealed the deal.

8.  Never Tear Us Apart

Quite possibly my favorite song for a pairs routine. I'm sad I can't find any video clips for Brasseur & Eisler's program to it (which is my favorite), but here's one by a different team to give you an idea:

9.  Brown-Eyed Girl

Not terribly romantic, but it still gives me warm fuzzies because it's been sung to me so many times (even though my eyes are hazel, not brown).

10.  God Only Knows

Because this song opens a movie that G and I love to watch, it always puts me in a romantic mood.

11.  No Ordinary Love

I could probably plop my finger down on any number of Sade's songs and it would spark a romantic mood, but this one's the best.

12.  Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?

Oh, man. Play this song and I'm making a fool of myself, trying to slinky-dance all over the place.

13.  Your Body is a Wonderland

Make-a-fool-of-myself slinky dance song #2.

14.  With or Without You

U2 fabulousness. Need I say more?

15.  Every Breath You Take

I know, I know, this is a stalker song. But I still think it's romantic.

16.  Friday I'm in Love

Popular just as I left high school, but made romantic once I met G - every day is Friday around here!

17.  You Make My Dreams

G and I have a lot of fun with Hall & Oates songs, so this peppy selection makes me smile and think of him.

18.  To Be With You

This song, as well as the next two, are burned onto the "first-love" CD that exists in my mind. There's just one more copy out there, somewhere in the world...

19.  Save the Best for Last

Despite having a later association with this song that didn't turn out so well, this remains a positive song in my memory.

20.  More Than Words

The perfect song to end this list with.

Now time for the new stuff!
