Friday Frivolity - Volcano Edition

It's time for this week's edition of Friday Frivolity - the blog party for all things fun, funny, hopeful & happy!

Just wait until you see what we dug up for this week's theme...

At last week's partywe looked at some of our favorite comedians for Tell a Joke Day.

Today is Vesuvius Day, to mark the date the volcano erupted in 79 A.D.

Vesuvius is the only volcano I've had personal experience with, but its effect on Pompeii will forever be burned into my mind...

I still can't believe how many of these body spaces they were able to cast -- it was beyond eerie!

And Vesuvius is still towering over the town...

I can't imagine walking down this street when the volcano blew!

But the subject of volcanoes brings a few other things to mind, too.

Like this song.

And this epically terrible movie, which I half want to watch again, just to see if I groan as much as I did in the theater when it came out.

When I was looking up good old Joe, I came across a few other volcano movies that I haven't seen, like Pompeii, Airplane vs. Volcano, Volcano and Stromboli (time to see how much Italian I can remember), along with another one that I'd forgotten all about (Dante's Peak).

Finally, thinking about volcanoes had me remembering all the fun Gv and I had for this week of Latticed Learning. I'm sure we'll be re-visiting some of those resources and activities this year, too.

Now time for the new stuff!
