Project Snapshot - Week 202

Each week, Project Snapshot captures a memory from the past few days - either with a camera, words, or both.

My Snapshot(s)

Every dog dreams of a googly-eyed, sticker-encrusted, pipe-cleaner plumed, feather-and-pom-pom covered doghouse, right?

Ever since this little guy briefly joined our family, Gv has been asking for another dog -- "one that doesn't bite me, please!"

I've been a little hesitant after that experience, but have tried to keep an open mind.

A few weeks ago, Gv fashioned a doghouse out of a cardboard box. She asked Grammy and Papa to bring their dog over to try it out, then kept adding to the structure, "so it's all ready for my dog to come live in."

This past weekend was a Dogtoberfest event in a neighboring town. They had rescued over a hundred dogs from a hurricane-destroyed shelter down in Puerto Rico, so we figured there would be tons of options to choose from.

Of course, by the time we drove all the way there after skating on Saturday, there were only 3 dogs remaining and 15 minutes left for us to talk with the rescue folks.

So we came home with no dog.

Which is fine, because we just know that the right dog is out there for us, at the right time. And until then, Gv will continue to work on her doghouse.
