Friday Frivolity - Current Binge TV Show Edition

It's time for this week's edition of Friday Frivolity - the blog party for all things fun, funny, hopeful & happy!

Just wait until you see what we dug up for this week's theme...

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. This means if you click on a link and purchase something, I'll receive a small affiliate commission at no cost to you. Thanks so much for supporting my efforts with this blog!

At last week's party, we shared our favorite card games and I loved hearing what your favorites were!

Here at the Healy House, we've recently finished up with several of our binge-tv shows, so I figured it would be fun to make that our topic this week.

And besides sharing shows, I'm super-excited to have my pal Sarah at Devastate Boredom back partying here with us again! Be sure to pop over and say hey and ask how much she's loving life with her adorable little Baby Devastate Boredom!

1. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

I actually have only watched a handful of these episodes so far, but I'm already hooked!

This show includes some of the snappiness of Gilmore Girls (thanks to Amy Sherman Palladino's direction) with the added bonus of the fun period styling of a movie like this or this.

2. Curb Your Enthusiasm

I've called this Seinfeld 2.0 from the start and then G and I laughed like crazy when part of the show turned into an actual Seinfeld reunion!

To me, this is the same ridiculous show about nothing that Seinfeld was, only beware, because this version's from HBO and includes plenty of language...

3. Scorpion

We got all caught up on this show and now get to watch it weekly for free on cbs.com. It's getting to the point where we're making fun of it more than anything, but the pilot episode was still one of the most action-packed I've seen for a tv show!

4. The Musketeers

I am so, so very sad that we've watched all of this show's episodes, because it is easily one of my favorites of all-time!

At least it's a BBC show, which means I can hold out hope that it might come back some day...

5. Bringing Up Bates

G doesn't watch this with me, but Gv does and she can even name all 19 kids! We've been staying up late to watch all the past episodes while we get geared up for the new season premiere this week!

By the way, did you notice something familiar about this particular Friday Frivolity post? You'll find out why when this week's 5 After 5 post goes live!

Now time for the new stuff!

What a great blessing to find my review of Vintage Saints and Sinners featured here today! And thanks for all the viewing recommendations. Right now we're enjoying The Crown, but I hear there are deep weeks ahead so we'll likely drop it and will be looking for something else! So . . thank you!

Your tv comments made me laugh. I also loved Scorpion's pilot but after a while wasn't as crazy about the show

It really is such a fun show and I wish there were more episodes to watch, for sure!
We finished up all the shows we were binge watching before Christmas and are having a really hard time finding a new set of shows that appeals to us both. I love Life in pieces but he doesn't. He enjoys the punisher which I don't watch.

How funny that you guys finished up a bunch of shows before Christmas, too! G just checked out a whole stack of new possibilities from the library, so we'll see if any of those make the cut...
We have watched The Musketeers and have really enjoyed that! Scorpion sounds really good. We'll have to check it out. We're almost finished with Black List so we'll be needing something else to watch!

Happy New Year!

I haven't seen those shows--The Musketeers looks like I would really enjoy that and I do love a good BBC show! Thanks for sharing at Party in Your PJs, Lisa!
