The day this book arrived, I let out a huge squeal of delight, because it's not every day one of your best friends for the past twenty years publishes a book you can hold in your very own hands!

Better Together

Even though Gv and I don't follow a "Morning Time" ourselves (because we have our own weird, quirky way of doing things around here, of course!), I think it is a fabulous practice for all homeschooling families to at least investigate and try to adapt for use in their own homes.

And just because we don't do Morning Time around here (to be honest, our entire day is kind of a hodgepodge Morning Time), that doesn't mean that Pam's book on the subject wasn't helpful to us.

She has such an easy way of combining personal stories, wonderful resources and helpful suggestions from so many different families all while motivating the reader (the gal can sell ice to an Eskimo, I tell you!) to feel empowered to implement this regular practice into each homeschool day.

Think of this book as pulling together all the wonderful tidbits Pam shares on her blog and helping you see the value in how engaging in Morning Time can benefit your family and strengthen its relationships.

Glean practical tips for ways to tailor Morning Time for your learning crew -- no matter which homeschooling style you follow!

Peek into the windows of other homeschooling families as you learn all the different ways the practice can be tweaked and personalized -- many of the other moms even share their favorite resources!

This book is an easy read and one that will perk you up each spring as you start planning for the next school year. There are certain books that are worth reading through on a regular basis to help keep your home learning community fresh and exciting and this is definitely one to add to that list.

After you've finished the book and are all jazzed to start figuring out your plans for next year, hop on over to nab a set of Pam's great, she's-done-all-the-work-for-you-already Morning Time plans. You can choose from those tailored to the preschool set, themes that follow the Catholic liturgical year, and others that focus on history or the seasons -- there's something to help every homeschooler get started!

So add this fabulous homeschool resource to your "professional development" library and let Pam guide you in creating time in your day to focus on the things that matter most in your homeschool -- grab your copy of her book here!

Do you "do" Morning Time at your house?  I'd love to hear!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
