We couldn't help but smile when this sunny, whimsically-illustrated book arrived:

This heartfelt picture book opens by asking what the reader would wish for, "if you have some wishes just for you."

The next several pages are filled with all sorts of typical responses, like bikes, ice cream, or fancy clothes...

Besides the fun, rhyming verse, I love how the three children each have their own personal color attached to them and then the illustrations for their self-absorbed wish choices are also created with that same color.

But after realizing that one of the wishes has pitted the children against each other and thrown them into grumpy moods, the focus of the wishes changes from what the kids could get to what the world could be given.

Suddenly, the pages come alive with a rainbow of colors and the rest of the book is filled with inspiration on what the world could be with more peace, love, and joy in it.

I just love the creative way the primary-colored children come together to create a rainbow of colors!

It's a fabulous message for every child out there and even a book that I would have made sure to read each year in my classroom -- although it's published by Zonderkidz, it doesn't include anything blatantly Christian at all, so I recommend this book for everyone to add to their family library!

As an added bonus, 100% of the author's royalties are being donated to Unicef USA, which means that just by purchasing the book, your family will be helping the world in a bit of a tangible way, as well.

Grab a copy here and inspire your kids to look for their own ways to make the world a more hopeful and peaceful place for everyone!
