I just finished (virtually) attending two big teacher trainings incorporating nature study topics in the classroom, so I was super-jazzed when this arrived:

Gv and I are planning to devote a huge portion of our next school year to nature studies and journaling, so all those training hours will be totally worth it and this fantastic book will fit right in!

We have an entire bookshelf devoted to the fabulous Berenstain Bears, consisting of books that were mine as a child, those that I had in my classroom, some that we received as hand-me-downs, or a few that I've had the pleasure of reviewing, like this great pet-themed title.

God Loves the Animals is another fun addition to our collection, allowing us to take a nature walk through Bear Country with the Bear Family and meet all sorts of fun animal friends.

You can't see it here, but each animal name mentioned is in a different bold color, to make it even easier to point and learn with your young reader.

Even though this is a board book, it's a fun addition to our library since it fits right in to our nature-centered theme for the year.

I'm a big believer in continuing to read board books as children get older - there's plenty of fun and value in those and picture books even after Harry Potter begins to fill their days!

That being said, this book is especially perfect for the younger crowd. I can just imagine how much Gv and I would have enjoyed returning to it day after day, pointing out the animals whose names are in colorful, bold type on every page.

The most fitting home for this book would be a family with both very young children and older siblings, who could all snuggle up as a group to enjoy this as a read-aloud together before setting out to explore nature as a family. Get your own copy here and bring a little Berenstain Bear nature fun into your days!
