I almost passed up the opportunity to review this book:

I mean, it's such a short little book of the Bible and I just didn't see how it could possibly take six weeks to study it.

But I could tell by the cover that it was set up in a similar way to this book I'd recently reviewed and since I'd finished that one and was just wrapping up my study with this book, I figured why not grab something new to take its place?

I'm always a sucker for a pretty cover.

As soon as it arrived, I could tell there was more to this study than I'd imagined. Listen to this blurb from the publisher and see if you don't agree:

"With a worldwide pandemic, an uncertain economy, a tumultuous presidential election season, and deep divisions over race, schooling, and more, it is enough to make even the staunchest person tremble. Where is God? Is He still in control? Why does He seem to be so silent? “The book of Habakkuk, named after its author, is about learning to believe that God is good and maintains control even when there is so much evil and tragedy in the world around us,” says Dannah Gresh, author of the new Bible study, Habakkuk: Remembering God’s Faithfulness When He Seems Silent"

Um, yeah, maybe there's more to this little book of the Bible than meets the eye.

Not only that, but this study weaves together weekly podcasts (available for free online), Bible study, daily Scripture reading, discussion questions and more to help the reader understand how Habakkuk went from a life of doubting, fearing, and questioning God to one of living by faith.

Author Dannah Gresh most wants to help us understand how important it is to remember.

Remember to wrestle with God when He seems silent.

Remember to look to see where God is at work.

Remember to embed questions for God with Truth.

Remember to watch for God's answers.

Remember to fear God.

and Remember to sing praises to God.

She posits that remembering is essential to understanding the faithfulness of God and hopes that by using the tools provided in this study, you'll do just that.

I have just begun tackling this study myself and I have to say that the initial section was a bit more involved than I'd expected (nothing too crazy, but you'll want to set aside at least half an hour a session to do it justice), but I'm really looking forward to finding out how to use all these storms of life to activate my faith!

Plus, it's so pretty!

I encourage you to join me in this study. Grab your copy here and take a chance on finding out what this little book of the Bible can teach you!
