It's time for another round of 5 After 5!  In case you missed it, last week's list was 5 character allusions and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here.

Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.

And if you've posted your own 5 After 5 list on your blog, I've turned this series into a link party - so be sure to get your own 5 things added below (or leave your answers in today's comments if you're not a blogger).  I loved reading everyone's comments from last week and I really can't wait to see what you share today!

List 5 Apps You Love

G and I both still have dumb phones, but I did pool a bunch of Barnes & Noble gift cards (being a teacher can sometimes be pretty cool) a few years ago to get a Nook.  I had fought getting a reader for quite a while, but we were going to be traveling and I decided it was a smart thing to have in order to get online and also to save my back from lugging around the bazillion books I inevitably would have brought.

Anyway, I don't have too many apps on it, but there are five that I visit almost daily (& they're all free!)

1.  Trivia Crack

I love trivia games, so I was pretty excited when I discovered this one.  My mom and I pretty much have about 10 games going at any one time and I like that I can get on once a day to "take my turn" and then move on to something else pretty quickly.

If I'm on and she still hasn't played her turn yet, I'll get all crazy and start to do the timed challenges with 10 strangers - or I'll get really wild and play in Italian!

It's pretty interesting to see what the questions are like when you're playing in another language.  You can tell a lot about a country's priorities that way.

2.  Facebook

Unless I'm on to share something from the blog, I check the updates on here twice a day (when I'm putting Gv down for her nap and to bed).  It's easy to zip through everything quickly while she's falling asleep eating and gives me something light to keep my mind busy (and prevents me from falling asleep with her!)

3.  Pinterest

There are days when it takes me For-ev-er (quick, name the movie!) to get away from Gv after she's fallen asleep - sometimes she just wants to eat. And eat. And eat.  So on those days, I look for new activities to use during our Latticed Learning time.

The only problem is that I haven't figured out a way to easily organize boards and pins from the Nook, so things tend to be a little chaotic over there in Syncopated Mama Pinterest-board land...

4.  Duolingo

I try to practice my Italian every day and this app is perfect for keeping up those skills, until some day when I have the time to go back and really work on it all again.

Occasionally, I'll even work on my Spanish, French, and German, too.  If I could have only one app, this would probably be it, because I love learning languages so much.

5.  Overdrive

Well, I said if I could have only one app, it would be Duolingo, but that's after I made sure to have this one installed.  This is where I read pretty much all of my books - free from the local library, of course, so in actuality, I spend the most time using this app.

For next week:
