It's time for another round of 5 After 5!  In case you missed it, last week's list was 5 guilty-pleasure television shows and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here.

Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.

And this series is now a link party, so be sure to scroll down and join in all the fun with us this week!

List 5 of your favorite road trip memories

Whether it's memories of being squeezed into the back of the station wagon with your siblings growing up, crazy marathon drives in college, or listening to shouts of "Are we there yet?" or "He hit me!" from the backseat today, you're bound to have a few favorite road trip memories to share.

I've taken quite a few epic road trips in my life - and here are five of my favorites:

1.  USA Loop (Southwest)

Growing up, I went on plenty of awesome road trips with my parents (read more about one of them below), but this mega-trip I took just before the turn of the century remains the most comprehensive.

It would take me forever to list every spot I visited on this trip, but some of the most memorable stops were: Guadalupe National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, Painted Desert & Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Yosemite, San Francisco, Arches National Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park.

I still have a similar loop planned for the northwest portion of our country, someday.

2.  Canadian Maritimes Loop

This road trip took me to one of the most unusual and remote places I've ever been to and I'm still suggesting many of the stops from this trip to anyone I encounter that's visiting this part of the country.

Some of the most memorable locations were: Acadia National Park (Maine), Cape Breton Island (Nova Scotia), Cape Onion (Newfoundland), all of Prince Edward Island, Quebec City and Montreal.

And yes, much of this vacation did take place afloat - several ferries were involved in getting my car to all those amazing stops - the longest one stretching from St. John's, Newfoundland, to Sydney, Nova Scotia.

3.  European Loop

This road trip might not have covered the distance of others I've taken, but since it was one G and I took while I was five months pregnant with Gv, it will always remain one of my favorites.

We had no plans set for this trip.

As in, no place to stay, no itenerary, nothing.

We simply got off the plane in Cologne, Germany, rented a car, and went exploring.

Even though we spent New Year's in Paris and some time in larger cities like Dusseldorf, most of our 17 days on the road involved meandering around the tiny towns of Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and France.

4.  Turkey Trot 2015

We went to visit G's brother in Memphis for Thanksgiving this year, but turned the whole thing into a big ol' road trip to get there.

This was the first time we'd explored new places together since Gv has been in the picture - and the experience told us that she is just as infested with travel bugs as we are!

New Orleans, the Natchez Trace, and visiting the tiny Mississippi town where my dad was born made up the majority of our trek, in addition to stops to see several great friends along the way.

5.  The Great Texas Trip of '85

This is one I took with my parents growing up.  Lots of memories from this one and probably the best trek of my childhood.

I don't think there's a spot in this state we didn't explore - from big cities like Houston, San Antonio and Austin to seaside towns like Corpus Christi and Galveston - even border crossings in Brownsville and Laredo!

But my favorite stop was Big Bend National Park - to this day, I've yet to encounter many other places that rival the starry skies found here!

For next week:

List 5 of your favorite organizational tools

Since my attempt to stay ahead of the game on our month-long trek into the wilderness (somewhat) failed around here (I counted 3 "whoopsies," did you spot more?), I figured it might be helpful to list the top tools for keeping track of all the crazy that is life nowadays.

I've got my five.  Can't wait to see yours!

And now, here's this week's link party!  Two other fabulous bloggers have teamed up with me to create lists of five each week and we hope that you'll join us, too!

That's right, every post will be read, pinned and tweeted!

Every Saturday, just stop by one of our three blogs to add your own list of five, then pop over and read as many other posts as you're able to each week - treat it like a true party and really mix it up and mingle with our fun little community!

The rules are simple:  just write your own list following the prompt each week (feel free to interpret it loosely - or in a unique way!), follow each of the three hosts on the social media channel of your choice, and then get into the spirit of the party by grabbing your favorite beverage or snack and reading the lists of the other party-goers.
