It's time for another round of 5 After 5!  In case you missed it, last week's list was 5 favorite educational blogs and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here and catch up on all the old editions here.

Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.

And this series is now a link party, so be sure to scroll down and join in all the fun with us this week!

List 5 of the best 80's movies

Oh, geez, WHAT was I thinking?  Only five movies from this prime decade?

I couldn't do it.

But I got close.

Seven's practically five, right?

1.  Gremlins

Those rules.  And the change - how could such cute and cuddly little critters turn into such slimy creatures?

And slimy creatures who Christmas-carol, no less:

(Fa-la-la-la-laing starts about 20 seconds in)

Ugly as they are, they really make me laugh.

I haven't seen this movie in so long, I really need to watch it again soon.

But not in the bathtub.

Or without sunglasses.

Or never, ever while eating popcorn if it's after midnight.

2.  Adventures in Babysitting

There's nothing like turning an average babysitting job into the wildest night ever to make life more exciting - especially when you've got your own regular weekly babysitting job on the calendar!

"Nobody leaves this place without singing the blues!"

If you haven't seen this one, grab yourself a Thor hat and get ready for some cheese like only the 80s can produce!

3.  Mannequin

Long before she got busy in the big city, Kim CattralI was glamming it up in a storefront window.

The premise is ridiculous (hey, I could have included Weekend at Bernie's, you know!), but it's just so much fun.

And admit it, this movie's the only thing you can think of when you hear this:

4.  Innerspace

If this movie came out today, it wouldn't be so crazy to imagine.

It's one thing to have a vitamin-sized camera floating around inside of you, but quite another to have a cocky pilot zooming around in your innards:

5.  Top Gun

Even if you don't have a need for speed, there's no way I could possibly leave this one off the list.  And admit it.  You had that same poster of Tom Cruise up on your wall, too.

Can't stomach this movie?  Hmph.  You must've lost that lovin' feeling...

I can't believe we're actually living past the year when Marty McFly hoverboarded around Hill Valley!  I love the entire trilogy, but the original can't be beat - you don't even have to cross the space-time continuum to understand it!

7.  Ferris Bueller's Day Off

To me, this is the absolute best movie of the decade.  I mean, some people don't do as much in their entire lifetime as Ferris and his pals did in one day!

This movie helped shape my taste in art  as well as my activities while traveling (you know I had to totally do this):

I've obviously left some major players off this list (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Die Hard, Footloose, Dirty Dancing, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club & all the other Brat Pack movies - okay, I'll stop!), but these five seven are some of the most fun!

For next week:

List 5 fun activities for fall

We won't notice that change in the air until sometime in mid-January around here (and even then, autumn will only last for a total of 2 hours and 36 minutes), but for anyone living even slightly north of the 30th parallel, the start of fall means all sorts of special things.

It will make me insanely jealous, but I still can't wait to hear what things are on your list!

And now, here's this week's link party!  Two other fabulous bloggers have teamed up with me to create lists of five each week and we hope that you'll join us, too!

That's right, every post will be read, pinned and tweeted!

Every Saturday, just stop by one of our three blogs to add your own list of five, then pop over and read as many other posts as you're able to each week - treat it like a true party and really mix it up and mingle with our fun little community!

The rules are simple:  just write your own list following the prompt each week (feel free to interpret it loosely - or in a unique way!), follow each of the three hosts on the social media channel of your choice, and then get into the spirit of the party by grabbing your favorite beverage or snack and reading the lists of the other party-goers.

Your Hosts:
