Project Snapshot - February 2019

Each month, Project Snapshot captures memories from the past weeks - either with a camera, words, or both.

Time passes in the blink of an eye - see which treasured memory will join the year's collection for this month:

My Snapshots

What have we been up to this past month? Take a look and see:

Gosh, jeepers, where did this month go? I mean, I know it's short, but come on -- how can it be over already?

G and I had told Gv she could paint her nails for the first time as a special reward for a goal she'd been working really hard toward. She said she wanted to wait until Grammy could do it, and it was all very exciting:

She was waffling between fire-engine red (her favorite color) and sparkly silver in the store. Grammy and I steered her towards the more modest silver color...

The state fair is a pretty big deal around here and we always have loads of fun going together as a family, but with me stuck on the ice all weekend, G and I decided to sit this year out.

Gv, however, was still jazzed and anxious to proudly wear her 4-H shirt there, so we sent her off with the cousins for probably what was her best day ever at the fair:

She was so excited to eat this cookie that was as big as her head!

They ate probably everything that was up for sale, saw all the animals, made all the crafts, watched the pig races and even came home with a trophy from the demolition derby!

She just might not want to go with us ever again!

And since the state fair is such a big deal in these parts, kids usually get a day off school for "Fair Day." Normally, teachers have to work, but this year, G got the day off, too.

But instead of spending it at the fair, we finally made it to our closest National Park Unit for a family day, where Gv earned another Jr. Ranger badge:

Finally, our rink hosted a figure skating competition last weekend. This was Gv's first time competing and...

...she not only skated her heart out, but came home with a gold medal, as well!
