I received a free copy of this product as a member of Zondervan's Z Blog Squad in exchange for writing a review.  All opinions are my own.

I have to admit, I was super-excited when this children's reference book arrived:

I've been reading several history books myself lately, so my mind has already raced ahead to next fall and planned out ways I can introduce a bit of history to Gv through our Latticed Learning time.

I'd decided that I was going to use our weekly Bible stories as a launchpad for it all, so this book is the perfect resource for me to use in this goal!

This over-sized, hard-bound book is full of photos and facts to pour over!

It's filled with over 1,000 amazing facts and photos about life during the Bible times and relates many of these stories to what was happening in the surrounding areas at the same time.

I love how this book is organized, because each two-page spread is categorized to relate to most all of our Latticed Learning weekly themes!

This spread is titled, "How Did One Family Become a Nation?" and will fit in perfectly with our study of Abraham through Joseph!

This book reminds me so much of the layout of National Geographic Kids reference books (like this Almanac), which have always been extremely popular with my classroom students.

Because of that, I have complete confidence in the appeal of this reference book centered around Biblical facts for school-aged children.

The many images and drawings that fill the pages help bring history alive and will be one that your children will return to over time!

This book uses plenty of current-day photos of Biblical locations, which help to make these stories easier to relate to!

One of my favorite features of this book is the timeline:

This simple timeline is one of my favorite features -- helping to anchor Biblical events in the history of the world!

And another great feature is the list of people, found in the back:

An appendix in the back lists the names to know for both the Old and New Testaments.

I'm not sure how excited Gv will be over this book right now -- she's only four and this resource is probably best suited for elementary to middle-school aged kids, but I'm excited to begin using it this fall, regardless.

I suspect that she'll at least appreciate taking a look at the photos and drawings that relate to our Bible stories after we read them and that they will help her begin to better orient these stories into her ever-expanding framework of time.

If you have kids and are interested in helping them understand the world of the Bible, then this is a resource you'll want to own!

Find it here and illuminate the world of the Bible a bit better for your family!
