Maybe you don't have time this summer to head out on a big trek -- or maybe you have the time, but not the budget -- or maybe you are planning to go somewhere, but all those weeks with no school have you breaking out in a cold sweat as you wonder what in the heck you're going to do with a houseful of kids all day...
Well, whichever situation you're in, one way to make a staycation more fun is to do an ABC Photo Scavenger Hunt with your spouse or family!
I'm also over at Pam Barnhill's site again with an additional great keep-the-kids-busy/Staycation idea: Building Forts! Click on over and check it out; you'll probably be surprised to read just how many ways this fun activity can benefit your kids!
You might remember this post and all of the photo scavenger hunt fun taking our family walk one evening, but you could easily expand the idea to include places all around your town and spend some time playing tourist for free!
Make a list of ABC items ahead of time, or set out for a certain destination and see how many letters you can cross off your list -- the options are endless with this fun game!
And if you're really wanting to go all-out on the staycation idea, then the book The Great American Staycation is a fun resource that will give you plenty of other ideas for ways to explore near home while staying within your budget!
Or do you want an all-in-one, do-it-yourself kit for planning your own staycation? Pop on over here to see what the Dating Divas have put together for you -- their printables are always such fun!
I can't wait to hear what you get up to these next few months!
Have you ever taken a staycation before? I'd love to hear! Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
