Project Snapshot - May 2020

Each month, Project Snapshot captures memories from the past weeks - either with a camera, words, or both.

Time passes in the blink of an eye - see which treasured memory will join the year's collection for this month:

My Snapshots

What have we been up to this past month? Take a look and see:

Another wheeeeeeee for this month, as we continued to stay at home for all time...

Here are some of our more thrilling moments:

Even though in-person 4-H activities stopped when everything else did, Gv had a few projects in her book left to complete. She had loads of fun working on the kite one in our backyard.

Mother's Day was the first time Gv and I had left the house and this lone family hike at our favorite nature preserve was wonderful. Gv decided to wear her new hiking boots, even though it's a simple trail, because it looks like this might be the only hiking we get to do this year...

...this might also be the only camping that happens this summer, too. Gv has plenty of experience creating tent cities with us, so she constructed this outdoor reading nook one day.

Our little party planner had to miss out on the big shindig this year, but still managed to have a ton of fun on her special day. She dressed up in fancy black "dress robes," covered a party hat to match, and then set off on the magical scavenger hunt I'd created to lead her to her birthday gift.

She asked if she could make her birthday cake herself this year, because she knew how she wanted it to look. She did pretty much the whole thing herself, with just a little help from me for the glasses, scar and mouth (because I couldn't find our cake decorator and ended up having to use a knife and my fingers to draw it all on!) I liked the Gryffindor-colored M&Ms scarf she added, and then she made it even more "Gv-fied" by adding sprinkles for a "magical twinkle in his eyes."

Side note: I didn't want to use up 32 bottles of nasty food coloring just to whip up his hair-colored frosting, so we ended up adding some cocoa powder (my idea) and melted chocolate chips (her idea) to get a nice, dark, non-staining frosting.

And that pretty much wrapped up our month! I wonder what wonderful memories next month will bring?
