We really don't need more Bible story books in our life, but that didn't stop Gv from getting excited when this one featuring dolls showed up:

Faithful Friends is full of biographies of both men and women from the Old and New Testaments.

While the stories are told in a short, easy-to-understand passage perfect for children ages 4-10, it is the illustrations that will captivate you the most.

Expert crafter Marcy Kelleher sells heirloom dolls of saints, literary figures, and Bible characters with a distinct handcrafted style in her online shop.

Her husband, teacher Michael Kelleher, wrote these biographies and their hope is that this book brings joy as it's shared with the little ones in your life.

The stories of over 40 biblical characters are accompanied by a photograph of an adorable handcrafted doll that was specially made to capture both the character and themes of the story.

(I love all the details included in the scenes -- we had so much fun talking about how each one related to the character's story!)

You'll find all your typical "favorites" inside, but I was surprised to see some unique additions as well (my favorite surprise was Huldah, one of the seven prophetesses in the Hebrew Bible).

The book concludes with notes from both the author and artist and I especially enjoyed reading how Michael kept returning to Hebrews 11 as his inspiration and guide to keep the text under 250 words (just like the author of Hebrews 11 did!)

Additionally, I explored the Kelleher's website and discovered some great free resources they've shared, so be sure to check those out to use while reading through the book!

It's so clever to see how this couple thought to integrate the wife's craft skills into Bible stories like this! Have you fallen in love with these adorable dolls as much as I have? I'd love to hear!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
