I received a free copy of this product as a member of Zondervan's Z Blog Squad in exchange for writing a review. All opinions are my own.
I had hoped this series would make a great read-aloud for Gv and I, but when it arrived, I realized she was still a bit young for it.
I'm still happy to have had the chance to review it, however, because it will be something to set aside for her when she gets a little older.
I only just heard about Faithgirlz when I recently reviewed this nifty coloring devotional book.
I've since learned that there are a whole host of other titles out in the Faithgirlz line that empower girls to joyfully explore, grow and proclaim their Christian faith.
This new Lena in the Spotlight fiction series is written by Alena Pitts (with a bit of help from her mom, Wynter). Alena is the star of the War Room film and this novel is a reflection of her own life experiences as she reaches for the stars while keeping her faith in balance.
This is a wonderful book to help keep your tweens and teens grounded given our flashy world.
I feel this is a book for confident, independent readers who are interested in learning more about what it's like to become a star, or just remain steadfast in their faith throughout all that today's world throws at them.
The 167 pages of text are joined by only a smattering of illustrations, so I feel girls in grades 2/3 through middle school would get the most out of it.
I'm happy that wholesome books like this are an option for our girls these days. I hope that Gv will enjoy it, once she gets a bit older.
Get your own copy here and give your gal an opportunity to grow her faith through fiction!

You can easily see that this is not a beginning chapter book. |
