At last week's party, we tried on a bit of the brogue as we focused on Scotland for Bagpipe Appreciation Day.
Now it's National Simplify Your Life Week, so we're looking at ways to declutter (or not).
We're currently in declutter mode at the Healy Homestead, which means that in the meantime, I'm going bonkers as our house in shambles while the transformation takes place:
I've finally convinced G to weed out the books a bit...16 boxes of the things listed online for sale and still thousands to go.... |
He's also in the process of going through all the clothes in his closet, which means there are clothes hung up everywhere in the meantime, like in the doorways to both our closets... |
He left me this little passage to slide through to get into my closet, wasn't that thoughtful? (Sarcasm? Noooooo. Not from me!) |
Yes, that is an entire set of bedroom wall-furniture stacked up in our living room, along with other random things to get rid of... |
Any bets on how long it will take to complete this decluttering project?
I'm calling 2020.
And, by the way, a great way to get a jump-start on a more minimalist lifestyle is to convert to the capsule wardrobe concept -- and my pal Sarah Eliza of Devastate Boredom has written just the book you need to help you set this all up!
Isn't this cover just too adorable and fun? It makes me want to read it again right now -- and I've already read it several times already! |
It's chock-full of fabulous, fun advice on all you need to know to downsize your wardrobe -- and makes so much more sense that any other capsule wardrobe advice I've seen before.
Get the skinny on everything from balancing your bases to a fresh approach to fashion, while cracking up at Sarah's humor all along the way.
Find out more and order your own copy of Secrets of the Capsule Wardrobe here!
Now time for the new stuff!

Featured Post from Last Week:
In a fun twist, since we have multiple hosts and co-hosts we will also have multiple features.... but you will have to go check out the other blogs to see if you were featured there! ;)
The featured post for Syncopated Mama this week is........
Well, in case you hadn't already figured it out, we were off on our huge summer trip these past few weeks and since we don't exactly have wifi out there in the mountain forest of our campsite, I've not been able to follow-up on all of your fabulous links like I normally do.
But the good news is, we are back. And even though I'm still scaling the final peak of laundry mountain, I was easily able to choose a feature for you all.
Marilyn of Marilyn's Treats shared a recipe for Chili Dog Pizza last week that immediately caught my eye -- especially since we had one last package of hot dogs that we hadn't eaten from the trip.
I made my own version of this dish for our Pizza Night last week and not only was it tasty, but it was tons of fun, too!

Books are the hardest for me to get rid of. I have thousands that I've lugged with me everywhere I've lived throughout my life. I could definitely declutter some of those. Xx
ReplyDeleteOh, the books, the books . . . I started decluttering book shelves back in May, and the shelves are still full. Gotta get back on duty!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the de-cluttering - it seems like a big undertaking at the time, but is so rewarding to look back on as you sit in the space you've created.
ReplyDeleteWould you be surprised if I told you I LOVE organizing and purging? It's such a great feeling to get everything in it's place!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO

ReplyDeleteI tend to organize and purge every few months; I just love it!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you are back and if I started decluttering now, I might be done in 2050.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting and I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.
When you're finished de-cluttering you home, I'd be thrilled if you would come do it to mine!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, the clutter! I understand. Just did the garage the other day. It feels so good when it's done....don't give up! :)
ReplyDeleteI got a laugh just reading through your post, Lisa! It seems like I live in declutter mode... oh to one day be free. :)
ReplyDeleteStopped by from Inspiration Spotlight party @DearCreatives
