List your top Christmas wish-list items for grown-ups

How is it that the minute you have a kid, suddenly it's so much more fun to think of things they might want, rather than dwell on what you want yourself?

Even though it's way easier for me to list things on Gv's list than mine, here are five things I'd be excited to get this year:

1.  Zippered CD Carrying Case

This isn't very exciting, but I'm really hoping to get one of these again this year. I'd wanted one last year so I could stick all our DVDs in it and even though they all fit in the one Santa brought, I can't get it zippered closed! So I'm figuring that with a second one, I can split them up and keep all those movies safe and cozy and dust-free.

As to what to do with all those no-longer-needed DVD cases...we-ell, I'm just not sure. I don't want to get rid of them just yet, but I still want them gone! Maybe I can just shove the bin full of them in a closet somewhere...

2.  Bringing Up Bates

This is my new favorite "me" show and I've only been able to watch the first few episodes of each season for free online, so I'd love to get the rest and fully catch up on this fun family.

3.  Laptop Computer

I'm not really expecting to get this, but maybe there will be some insanely-great sale on one that will make it possible.

I had a laptop that I loved (it was green and quirky), but it went kaput way back in 2012 and I've missed it ever since.

It's not something I need, but I tell you, it would make life SO much easier not to have to write an entire summer's worth of posts when I'm trying to pack everything up for our annual camping trip!

4.  Completed house projects

This is about the amount of clutter I would like to live with.
This better illustrates our reality...

Okay, those three things were fine, but what I really want is to have the house more organized again.

There's been some progress on that front since I made this goal last year, but I really really really want to see more!

5.  More time

Yeah, I know. This is something we probably all want and we're never going to get it.

But I just have so many things I want to do...and so little time...and, for some reason, my body thinks sleep is something actually necessary in order for me to function each day...

For next week:

Five ways to give to others this Christmas

Think beyond the gifts and ponder how you can touch the lives of the people around you this year.

That's right, every post will be read, pinned and tweeted!

Every Saturday, just stop by one of our blogs to add your own list of five, then pop over and read as many other posts as you're able to each week - treat it like a true party and really mix it up and mingle with our fun little community!

The rules are simple:  just write your own list following the prompt each week (feel free to interpret it loosely - or in a unique way!), follow both of the hosts on the social media channel of your choice, and then get into the spirit of the party by grabbing your favorite beverage or snack and reading the lists of the other party-goers.
