Friday Frivolity - Life "Short Cuts" Edition

At last week's party, we shared our favorite chips to pig out on.

This week, we're looking at the top five time savers we use to navigate life.

I have to say, I'm pretty stumped on this one. I'm sure there's stuff I do to save time and take short cuts, but I'm just kind of drawing a blank.

Well, here's my best shot...

1. Use the pillow sham pillows as a headboard

I had a headboard on my bed growing up, but I've never actually had one in my adult life. One of the things we do is stick the pillow sham pillows behind our sleeping pillows at night, so they act as kind of a headboard and keep our sleeping pillows from slipping down between the bed and the wall.

2. Clean up the kitchen as I cook

My mom always had a towel in the bathroom for drying out the sink every time we used it. I haven't kept that habit up, but I do generally clean up in the kitchen while I'm still cooking. It just saves so much time if I put all the spices back in the drawer while the onions are cooking or I wash all the dirty mixing bowls while the muffins are baking...

3. Clean the shower. While in the shower.

I'm laughing, because I used to clean the shower every week, but nowadays...

I don't.

However, when I do finally get around to cleaning the thing, it's just way faster and easier (and less gross) to clean it and then wash all the crud off myself at the same time.

4. Finish dressing on the way

I don't do this myself, but I'm often hurrying Gv off to get in the car seat and "put your socks and shoes on on the way." It saves a ton of time and because she doesn't feel rushed, she's better able to take care of this task all by herself.

5. Always bring a book (or two, or three)

This might not seem like much of a time-saver, but you would seriously not believe how much reading I get done during all the in-betweens of life. Waiting for the dentist? Grab your book. Get somewhere a few minutes early? Grab your book. Sitting at a red light?

No. Don't grab your book then. But any safe time, grab your book!

Now time for the new stuff!
