"Another story Bible? We probably won't need to add this one to our collection," I remarked to Gv after it arrived.
But once Gv started looking through it, I knew I'd need to find more space on the shelf...
There are several things that make this Bible a winner. First, it includes just 30 stories, which is pretty much enough to get you through a month if you're looping through it every day, or for one a week (not counting seasonal breaks) if you're going through it at more of a relaxed pace over the course of a year.
Second, it is illustrated by Omar Aranda, whose artwork Gv is already in love with from this title. His rich graphics really add so much to the stories and are probably the main reason we both love this new book so much.
But what makes this Illustrated Bible most unique is its focus on prayer. Prayer can be a difficult subject to cover, but this book uses Scripture references from the NIrV and short Prayer Points after each story to encourage children to talk to God and allow Him to work in their lives while showing them that prayer changes things, can bring them closer to God, and can allow them to communicate with the One who loves them most.
If you're looking for a great story Bible with wonderful illustrations or are interested in nurturing the prayer lives of your young children, then this a great title to grab. Pick up a copy here to add to your library and enjoy!
Do you love the idea of showing young readers how much of an impact prayer can have on life? I'd love to hear! Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
