Actress and author Candace Cameron Bure is back with another children's book that teaches a relatable and relevant lesson:

This is the third children's installment in the Candace collection (we still enjoy this book from last year) and the topic is one that almost all kids can relate to: longing for a pet.

Every parent can probably relate to it, too, especially in trying to convey all the responsibility that comes along with bringing a pet into a family.

Candace eagerly visits the animal shelter to search for a cuddly new dog but comes home with a rambunctious puppy who doesn't always follow directions instead.

Her patience is greatly tested and her excitement over the puppy quickly fades, but when furry Freckles runs away, Candace learns that there's more to being a good dog mommy than she expected.

Happily, Freckles returns and Candace learns the importance of remaining faithful and dedicated to commitments, even when it's hard.

What kid (or parent!) couldn't benefit from a cute little reminder to focus on patience?

Even though our own little Dog Mommy does a fantastic job around here (usually), this helpful book has been a great addition to our home libraryGrab this title here to add it to yours.

Could your kids use a little more practice with patience and dedication? I'd love to hear!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
