Even though our family works hard at communicating and thinking about our emotions (check out this post series if you haven't already!), we're always looking for new ways to expand the conversation surrounding feelings, so I was excited when this landed on our doorstep:

Sadness is definitely one of the hardest feelings to feel, but this book helps the reader learn that it's not only okay to be sad, but that God is in sadness, too.

Kids can discover that instead of avoiding this tough feeling, they can use it as an opportunity to grow closer to God.

Captivating artwork accompanies the text, which teaches toddlers through elementary-aged children how to identify the feeling of sadness in themselves and others, recognize sadness triggers, and to talk to God about their feelings, embracing the sadness without letting it overwhelm them.

This book is perfect for families, teachers, and counselors to have on hand to help kids deal with changing emotions, new experiences, or loss as well as to support good communication and mental health habits at an early age.
