Ever since Answer Me This ended last year, I've had many readers request that I just start it up again on my own.  I'd thought about it, but recently came up with my own twist on the concept that I was planning to begin in the summer.  However, now that Kendra is starting her party up again for a limited time, I'll put my plans on hold until summer's end.  Look for updates on my new project as the summer draws to a close - and maybe some of my Answer Me This friends will even come join me when I get it going!

1. At what temperature do you keep the thermostat set? Summer, winter, day, night?

80 in the summer and 70 in the winter, although I really try to go without it whenever I can - I'm a miser like that.

However, I'm not the only one who lives in this house, so you'll find that in the winter (Ha, like we even have that season!) the thermostat gets pushed up to 80 for the time period beginning when G gets up until he leaves for work (thankfully he'll set it back down for me when he walks out the door) and again when he gets home.  In the summer (which is every other time period during the year, besides the two weeks of "winter" that we have), it's just the opposite, although he usually sets it between 72 and 74.

It's always at 74 at night - no matter what non-season it is.  That and the ceiling fan mean that I'm often bundled up like Nanook of the North on any given night.

2. What is your favorite frozen beverage?

I do love a good milkshake (I really, really wish this wasn't stuck in my head right now), but usually only get them when my parents and I hit up Steak 'N Shake for lunch a couple of times a year.  They met at a Steak 'N Shake, so it's kind of our family's special spot.

3. Where do you keep your keys?

I'm sure the intention behind this question is where do I set them when I'm not using them, but I'm incredibly compulsive with my keys and so they're always right with my wallet next to the door to the garage.

But I do have a pretty unusual key chain that I keep my keys on...can any of you figure out what this is?

And Pam, you can't give it away!

4. Have you ever really been lost?

No, although I've definitely experienced that lost-panicked feeling, especially while on an unmarked trail in the middle of the woods (that forks umpteen times and you can never be confident about which way is the correct path) or paddling around Cockroach Bay in the kayak, where every clump of mangroves Looks. Exactly. The Same.

Why can't someone get with the program and blaze these silly kayak trails?

And no, you don't see any cockroaches on that paddle trip (what on Earth possessed someone to name it that?), but what you do experiences is millions of little crabs hanging on all those branches...and dropping onto your head and shoulders as you pass through these tunnels.

Not exactly the worst case of crabs you can get, but it's pretty unpleasant, nonetheless.

5. What is the last movie you saw in the theaters?

The final Harry Potter.  I'm not really a fan of the movie theater (because I always fall asleep, remember?), but I would venture in and join my fellow Muggles whenever a new portion of the saga came out.

I go to see James Bond, too (huge James Bond fan!), although I never made it to the theater for the last one.

  1. Um that paddle trip sounds terrifying! Ha. I like James Bond too - I think there's another coming out later this year :)
