It's time for another round of 5 After 5!  In case you missed it, last week's list was 5 of your all-time favorite movies and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here.

Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.

And if you've posted your own 5 After 5 list on your blog, I've turned this series into a link party - so be sure to get your own 5 things added below (or leave your answers in today's comments if you're not a blogger).  I loved reading everyone's comments from last week and I really can't wait to see what you share today!

List 5 must-have beauty items

Although I'm pretty much the epitome of laziness when it comes to getting all duded up to go somewhere, there are still some beauty items that I couldn't live without.

1.  Hair Products

Why, yes, I did do my hair today, thankyouverymuch.

Specifically, mousse and hairspray.

I've shared before what a mess I wake up to each morning, and since brushing my hair out results in poofiness beyond what any hair product can possibly control, I saturate it all with water each morning, then get enough gunk rubbed it so that I can just scrunch it up and it will stay that way.

My other alternative?  A perpetual ponytail, which results in a hair headache that tops the pain management scale of any hospital.

And although I've experimented with several homemade, natural hair products, I've just finally resigned myself to resorting to the chemicals for this one area of my life.

I'll buy whatever the cheapest hairspray out there is, but this is the must-have mousse for my hair.

We drink this stuff, use it in recipes, rinse our hair in it and about a zillion other things (I've got to get around to writing a post about the wonders of this miracle elixir!), but it is also my go-to product to annihilate zits!

3.  Floss

It takes me 30 minutes to go through my "tooth routine" every night.  There's the flossing, the brushing, the swishing, the water-picking, the retainer-inserting...

But the flossing is something I never skip.  Despite taking impeccable care of my teeth and never having a cavity in my life (which is quite rare, for someone born before tooth sealing emerged on the scene), I have been genetically blessed with gappy gums.

So, in order to stay far, far away from my periodontist (nice a man as he may be), I become a flossing fool each night before tumbling into bed.

4.  Fancy-Schmancy Toothbrush

This toothbrush may cost more than my first car, but I'll spend hundreds, if it helps keep my teeth from falling out of my mouth!

To go along with #3, I never skip my nightly brush, either.  And I swear by my fancy-schmancy toothbrush for helping to at least manage my floppy gum issue as much as I can.

5.  Natural Crystal Deodorant

When I met G, he told me he wanted me to live a really long time, so he asked me to please ditch my deodorant in order to help make sure that would happen.

He's done a lot of research on how harmful aluminum can be to our bodies, and since that's essentially what we're rubbing into our delicate armpits every morning when we apply deodorant, it's probably not a good thing.

I couldn't imagine trusting some wacky natural thing to cover up any body stink, so I was a little hesitant to make the switch to this natural salt spray stuff.

I think I scarred my poor friend who was teaching across the hall from me at the time, because pretty much every day (and, often, multiple times a day), I would walk up to her and ask her to "sniff me out," just to make sure the stuff was working and I wasn't a walking column of B.O.

She assured me I smelled just fine, and I've not had anyone inconspicuously slid their chair away from me lately, so I'm assuming it continues to do its thing and keep me stink-free. And if not, then puh-lease let me know about it, okay?

I will say that this spray is not an anti-perspirant (that's what the aluminum does), so it will not stop you from sweating.  But, since we pretty much live in tank tops around here year-round anyway, that really isn't an issue for me.

For next week:

List 5 Broadway shows you've seen (or want to)

Back before we were squeezing every penny to extract as much Zn and Cu as we could from each and every one, we actually got out occasionally and managed to see some shows.

I've seen quite a few, but can hopefully manage to come up with five of my favorites for next week's list.  I can't wait to hear about yours!

What's your list?  I'd love to hear!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
