I received a free copy of this product as a member of Zondervan's Z Blog Squad in exchange for writing a review. All opinions are my own.
This devotional book shows how God can accomplish amazing things with just a few words:
If you saw my recent review of the Bible Gems to Remember Illustrated Bible, then you know it's one that my gem-loving Gv is super-excited about. So she was over the moon when she learned that we'd also received this coordinating devotional book!
The Bible version is filled with colorful illustrations, but this devotional appeals to my little rock hound even more because it includes gorgeous gemstone photographs on practically every page!
This book is definitely very photo-driven, which along with its great content will appeal to an older crowd, but don't shy away from using it with younger (school-aged) children since the stories used to illustrate the points are sure to grab their attention, as well.
The only thing I wish was different about this book was that the weeks of these devotional readings coordinated with the matching weeks of the Bible story lessons. If the topic was, say, faithfulness, then it would be the focus of both.
Maybe the two books are meant for different age groups and this devotional is intended to take the illustrated Bible's place when a child grows out of it?
I'm not sure, but I do know that gem-loving-Gv can't wait to start reading it!
Aside from the nifty, nugget-sized verses that make this devotional unique, I was surprised at how heavy this book is. It's not especially thick, but I guess all the high-quality paper that was used to support all those gorgeous gem photos is what does it.
Dare I say it's worth its weight in gold? {smirk}
Grab a bejeweled copy of this neat devotional here and help your child read, reflect upon and put into practice the lessons learned from its 52 easy-to-memorize Scripture verses!
What do you think about condensing Bible verses down into smaller pieces to make them easier for kids to memorize? I'd love to hear! Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
