Gv and I have always enjoyed this bestselling classic Christmas book, so we were both very excited to hear about the release of this movie:

Based on the beloved 1972 international bestseller by Barbara Robinson, the storyline follows six siblings who sneak into church searching for snacks and walk away with the lead roles in the town pageant.

Grace (played by Judy Greer, whom I've loved ever since seeing her in this fun film) is directing the town's holiday performance for the very first time; she and her daughter Beth and husband Bob are less than amused.

Nobody is ready for the mayhem and surprises that ensue when six of the worst youngsters disrupt the town's yearly Christmas performance.

The Herdman kids are absolutely the worst. They lie, they steal, they bully…and they’ve hijacked the town Christmas pageant.

But the play’s mischievous stars unwittingly teach a community the true meaning of Christmas.

Directed by Dallas Jenkins (creator of one of my favorite shows ever - see my review of season 4 here) and featuring Lauren Graham (from this, Gv's and my current "lunch show"), this movie shows that there's no such thing as a Silent Night with the Herdmans around (and if you are a fan of The Chosen, see if you can recognize Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene and Gaius in the film, too!)

Gv and I both agreed it's the perfect Christmas movie and a must-add to everyone's annual holiday watch list (surely you have a tradition like this one or this that incorporates fabulous holiday films each Christmas season, right?)

From the start, this movie reminded me of this silly classic that's still quoted by practically everyone this time of year (otherwise, you'll shoot your eye out!

It was hilarious, and the two of us found ourselves laughing at something in almost every single scene.

There have been other movies I've reviewed that I've really enjoyed, but hands down, this is my favorite of all! I just absolutely loved every minute of it and Gv and I already both want to watch it again this year - we don't want to wait until next Christmas to add it into our holiday movie rotation!
