It's time for another round of 5 After 5!  In case you missed it, last week's list was 5 favorite breakfasts and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here.

Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.

And if you've posted your own 5 After 5 list on your blog, I've turned this series into a link party - so be sure to get your own 5 things added below (or leave your answers in today's comments if you're not a blogger).  I loved reading everyone's comments from last week and I really can't wait to see what you share today!

List 5 of your favorite household tasks

Inspired by a recent post over at Guilty Chocoholic Mama, I started thinking of the five things I love doing the most as a wife and mom...which of course led to the topic of next week's list, as well...

1.  Boo-Boo Kisser

Not that I enjoy the idea of Gv getting hurt, but since thankfully we've had nothing to deal with but a few bumps, bruises, and scrapes, this whole scenario ends up entailing lots of hugs, kisses, cuddles, and "I'm so sorry you inherited all these klutzy genes from me."

2.  Vacuuming

...Only problem is, we don't have any carpet in this house, so I miss out on the one cleaning job I actually enjoy.

No more tracks in the pile announcing to everyone who enters that despite all other appearances to the contrary, this house has been recently cleaned.

No more watching the little red light turn to green, so that I know every last little bit of crud dust has been sucked up into the vortex.

Sometimes I get the vacuum out, just to avoid sweeping, but I usually end up having to sweep anyway, so there the vacuum sits...in the garage...waiting for someday, when carpet returns.

3.  Sustenance-Creator

This mainly involves cooking and baking, but I also enjoy creating pantry staples (like baking powder, Greek yogurt, mustard, tortillas, and cheese, to name just a few) and other forms of kitchen-puttering.

4.  Laundry

I love laundry for the same reason I get all giddy coming home from the grocery store:  putting things away.

Yep, I'm one of those weirdos who actually enjoys putting laundry away.  And the groceries.  And basically putting away and organizing anything else around here.

But laundry, oh, that's even better, because you get to put away things that were cleaned for you by a magic machine that's basically the bread machine of clothing:  you dump everything in, push start, and voilĂ , out comes clean clothes - ready to hang on the line or shove into the dryer for even more clothes magic!

5.  Making the bed

This task takes mere seconds to do, yet the payoff is huge.

What other chore can you do right after you exit the bed in the morning that allows you to check something right off the old to-do list before you even have time to enter the bathroom (I know, too much information, but just try to tell me that's not the first place you head to after you get out of bed!)

I absolutely love our bright and cheery bedding, so making the bed puts a huge smile on my face and gets the day off to a great start.

For next week:

List 5 of your least favorite household tasks

I've listed what I love, next it's time for those things I constantly put off...or, let's face it, just don't do.

Will I shock you with my dirt-encrusted drapes?  (Nope, because I can't stand curtains.)

You'll have to wait and see what things I avoid like the plague...

What's your list?  I'd love to hear!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.

Aw, thank you again so much for the sweet shout-out, my friend! I believe you know I share your fondness for most of your mom-job faves. After all, I think we practically "met' over the life-changing powers of making the bed! ;) Since I already made my list on this subject, I'll just start brainstorming next week's. At least I already have #1 ready to go...

Of course I'm going to tell all the world about you, my friend, because you are amazing! I can't wait to read the rest of your list next week...
Wow! Can you come to my house :) You're inspiring. I love how you find joy in the mundane, everyday tasks we all have to do. Thanks for sharing with the Everything Kids party.

Hahaha! Well, you know, Heather, after all my *ahem* years of life, I've learned that it's just more fun to live if you can find joy in the everyday - and then turn those things into something special, whenever you can! Thanks for stopping by to say hi today!
I don't mind laundry either. :-) Not sure if I can come up with 4 others though. Ha ha.

Hahaha, well, laundry's a start! Thanks for sharing, Carolyn, and I hope to see you here again soon!
Cute post! I love the picture of the woman falling into the washing machine!!

I really hate to clean bathrooms! I like for them to be clean, but I love it when someone else does the cleaning!

I was "parked" by you on 100 days.

Blessings,
Melanie

I'm just waiting for Gv to get old enough to be able to clean the bathroom... (wink) Thanks for stopping by to say hello, Melanie!
Such a great post! I love making my bed, kissing boo boos, and cleaning bathrooms. Doing Laundry and Dusting are my least favorites.

I'm finding that I'm definitely not alone in the dusting hate-club! Thanks for sharing your lists, Dani!
I definitely get a certain satisfaction from making the bed and putting things away. I wish they'd stay put away for just a little longer, though!

Yep, all that darn stuff has the nerve to move around all the time, doesn't it? Always good to see you around here, Jamie!
What a cute post! Thanks for sharing it with us at 100 Happy Days! Go you for liking laundry. I cannot get my act together when the laundry is done. It sits around for days waiting to be folded! :/
Have a great weekend!

It's funny, because I actually have a load of clothes I washed two days ago that's still sitting in the basket needing to be folded & put away - which is very unusual for me, but happens sometimes, nonetheless. Thanks for stopping by to say hello, Alison!
Great list! I enjoy many of these things as well because it makes me feel like I am making the best environment for my family. I put off dusting. It drives me crazy! I do it once a week and the dust is back, lol! Thanks for sharing with #SocialButterflySunday! Hope to see you link up again this week :)

Yes, how dare that all that dust come back - it's not like we keep issuing an open invitation or something, right? Thanks for saying hey!
Hmmmmmm I'm with you on making the bed... so easy! so quick! so tidy! ;P

Let's see... I definitely enjoy organizing things, but hadn't thought to view putting the laundry away as "organizing things" - going to have to do that and see if it changes my attitude!

I honestly think I like cleaning the bathroom because it's always over and done quicker than I think it will be... such a small space! Maybe that's why I daydream about living in a tiny house...

I also like bathing my dog, which I think a lot of people hate, because it's just so satisfying to have her clean and fresh, haha. SHE isn't fond of it (no idea how puppy feels about water yet) but I always look forward to it.
