It's time for another round of 5 After 5!  In case you missed it, last week's list was 5 of the most popular travel destinations you've visited and if you're new to this series, you can read more about it here.

Today I've got my list of 5 to share, as well as next week's topic for you to stew about over the upcoming days.

And this series is now a link party, so be sure to scroll down and join in all the fun with us this week!

List 5 of your favorite snack foods

My favorite snacks foods pretty much all fall into the salty/crunchy category.  It's the same for G - which is both a good and a bad thing:  good because we need fewer snack varieties around the house, bad because we're both after the same thing!

So, what do we fight over the most around here?

1.  Tortilla chips & dip (particularly guacamole!)

This is G's after-school treat when he gets home from work - sometimes even if dinner's ready to go.  He just craves the crunch of a few chips with a bit of kimchi after the stress of the day.

If dinner's on the table (who am I kidding? we eat on the couch), I can pretty easily resist this snack, but if he dives into them after dinner or any time on the weekend, I'm snarfing them down right along with him!

2. Potato chips

We never (seriously - never) have these in the house, but if we're out on one of our grocery runs and there are chip samples to be had, you can bet I'm loading up on them like nobody's business.

I'm shoving as many as I can into those little paper cups at Whole Foods, keeping the overflow contained with my hands and also most likely stuffing some into my pockets, as well.

My favorite type?  Kettle-cooked!  And flavor?  Salt & Vinegar - or something offbeat, like dill pickle!

3.  Crackers

If I can't have chips, then I'll settle for some crisp crackers, especially if I'm looking for a conduit for a delicious dip like one of these.

I've also become Queen of the Crackers these past couple of years, while looking for something portable and easy that I could make to have on hand for Gv whenever we're away from the house.

(I so sorry, whoever has the honor of vacuuming under our pew at church.  I can only assure you that I do my best to pick up every speck I can from the depths of the carpet before we leave...)

These have become our new favorites, but I still like the extra nutritional punch of these - as well as some I talked about in this post, too.

4.  Cheese!

We love cheese around here - and probably eat far too much of it, but it's just so yummy and can quiet a rumbly tumbly like nothing else.

I seriously haven't met a cheese I didn't like (the stinkier, the better!), but ever since I got brave and started making my own fromage, that's mostly what we eat.

It's so much cheaper and healthier, and so delicious when it's all warm and fresh and gooey...

Seriously, if you haven't tried making your own mozzarella in an hour yet, you are missing out!

5.  Popcorn

I'm crazy about popcorn - Crazy, I tell you!

So much so, we eat a giant bowl of it almost every night.

Yes, I said every. night.

That's a lot of roughage, my friends.

But it's just the perfect snack - I always feel like I'm having a little party in my mouth while crunching away, one kernel at a time.

And it's healthy, too.  In fact, did you know that popcorn is full of polyphenols - those fabulous little chemicals found in plants that help neutralize free radicals?

Yup, popcorn has more antioxidants than most all foods, including most fruit!

We make ours in an air popper like this, so it doesn't require anything but organic kernels to make our favorite snack in just a few minutes.

I usually spray it with a layer of olive oil using one of these to keep the toppings on, but we like to eat it plain, as well.

What toppings do I use?  Anything goes.  Anything.

You name it, I've probably put it on popcorn at some point.  Our current favorite mix is garlic powder (of course!), nutritional yeast, and a little salt.

I like popcorn so much, I turned Gv into a big batch of it for Halloween a couple years ago!

For next week:

List 5 things you couldn't be paid to do

These are those things that come up when you watch some show like Survivor and think, "uuh, yeah, there's no way I'd do that for even a million dollars!"

That's what we're talking about next week.

Will you be surprised at my list?  I can't wait to see yours!

And now, here's this week's link party!  Two other fabulous bloggers have teamed up with me to create lists of five each week and we hope that you'll join us, too!

That's right, every post will be read, pinned and tweeted!

Every Saturday, just stop by one of our three blogs to add your own list of five, then pop over and read as many other posts as you're able to each week - treat it like a true party and really mix it up and mingle with our fun little community!

The rules are simple:  just write your own list following the prompt each week (feel free to interpret it loosely - or in a unique way!), follow each of the three hosts on the social media channel of your choice, and then get into the spirit of the party by grabbing your favorite beverage or snack and reading the lists of the other party-goers.
