Friday Frivolity - 80s Music Edition

It's time for this week's edition of Friday Frivolity - the blog party for all things fun, funny, hopeful & happy!

Just wait until you see what we dug up for this week's theme...

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. This means if you click on a link and purchase something, I'll receive a small affiliate commission at no cost to you. Thanks so much for supporting my efforts with this blog!

At last week's party, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day in style.

This week, we're throwing things back to the 80's and taking a look at some of the most memorable songs from that decade.

If you're feeling like I've written about 80s music before, then you're not imagining things. I wrote a 5 After 5 list for songs of the 80s, but since I'm not planning on repeating myself here, you just have to click on over to read it.

Since the 80s are totally up my alley, it's hard to choose just a few songs to highlight, but here are some of the favorite tunes to have stuck in my head all day:

Oh, wow. I'd better stop with that one. We could probably do this theme every week and I'd never run out of songs to share...

Now time for the new stuff!

The featured post for Syncopated Mama this week is........

I always wanted a big family, since it was so lonely growing up as an only child. Then when we got pregnant with #2, I panicked, because I worried I would have NO clue what to do, since all I knew was being an only child. Of course, I got over that fear pretty quickly, and even though we lost that baby, I'm still hoping to get to see what life is like in a world with siblings.

Until then, I can have fun reading this post by Jamie!

Now, the new stuff!

This a link-up for all things funny, fun, encouraging, hopeful, and happy. That includes free printables, giveaways, and other fun stuff to make us SMILE and start the weekend off on the right foot. If you're here in search of fun and uplifting reading materials, skip the rules and just start clickin'! Bloggy buddies, thanks for coming to par-tay! You are welcome to link up to 3 posts, and old posts are always welcome!

I have a tendency to idealize the 80's so I appreciate your reminding me just how terrible the music was. :-) Thanks for this fun and light hearted gathering!

Hahaha! It WAS terrible, but fun! Thanks for saying hey today, Michele!
You had at 80s music! You actually at me at #FridayFrivolity but I really love 80s music so....Another rockin' party! I'll be back (see what I did there, the 80s rule!). Thanks so much for the gnarly party, for sure. Hope this weekend treats you all kindly.

Woo-hoo for another 80s girl! Thanks for taking the time to say hello today!
Oh my word, I am totally having a (non drug-induced) flashback. My BFF and I thought "Eye of the Tiger" was IT back in the days we used to call in requests to our local radio station. (This was in our pre-sanctified days, mind you.) So glad to be back at #FridayFrivolity...I've missed all of you! xoxo

YAY for your "Eye of the Tiger" obsession! There was even a "dress up to match a song" day in school around that time and of COURSE I had to pick that one! I don't for the life of me remember what I wore, but I can see myself singing the song to others (badly) on the back stairwell of the school! :P
Thank you for hosting. I hope your first week of spring was fabulous! My hubby will enjoy this walk down 80's music lane. He listens to 80's music every Saturday morning.

How fun that your hubby has an 80's music habit every weekend!
The music in the 80's was fun!!!

It sure was, Hil!
Thanks for hosting! I am loving all these reminders and flashbacks! 80's music was awesome!

So glad you had fun walking along memory lane with me, Joanne!
Thanks for hosting and always remember Every Breath You Take, Every Move You Make, I'll Be Watching You, lol :0)

Yay for the 80s! Have a great weekend, Helen!
Oh yes, keep the 80s articles comin'! You've chosen some good ones there! Another one of my favorite George Michael tunes was "Freedom." (Wait, that *could* have been 90's?!?) Or of course, "I Want Your Sex." ;-)

Yay for another 80s pal! Don't worry, if I have anything to say about it, you'll see more of the 80s around here! Hope to see you here again soon, Mary!
