We added this Advent book by Glenys Nellist to our collection last year, so we were excited to enjoy another holiday selection by the author this season:
We have other "Love Letters" books like this one and Gv has always enjoyed opening the envelopes on each page to read her personalized letters from God, but she was a little disappointed to find that in this newest title, the letters are just illustrations on each page.
When I read the book's description online, it sounded like it still had flaps and envelopes to open, so I'm not sure if I received a special review copy or if this is how the latest printings were done, but I wanted to make sure to provide a heads-up on this right off the bat.
Aside from that, this book is still a worthwhile read. It covers 7 stories leading up to and following Jesus' birth and would make a wonderful addition to your holiday book stash.
Each story contains both prose and poetry (I like the rhyming bits best) and is similar to the other "Love Letters" books in how the illustrations are formatted like a scrapbook.
